In the gym,
Gerry in his blue jeans
bench pressed and squatted
as he alway did
Since he was a kid
Lifting wood pallets and skids
He was practically,
a good man
Inside and outside the gym.
Others cloaked in
Adidas and Nike
Looked at him
more than twice.
As Gerry pumped his triceps
And biceps,
Bystanders,
chuckled at the sight.
When amongst the free weights
Gerry spotted
an unmanned
Cellular device.
He placed it in his pocket
It’s extra weight,
caused his pants to drop
Gerry pulled them up
Cinching his belt -
another notch
He did not turn red,
Because
that is just what one did.
He eyed
a red faced man
with earbuds unplugged
And blue eyes on the roam
He had hair to comb,
And a shirtless six pack
above his bone
He wore spandex,
meant for a bike.
Gerry handed him the phone
Because that is right.
“Thanks man,
you saved my life.”
Then Gerry went on his way
not to impress
But to bench press.
But Gerry did advise,
“You need pockets, try Levis.”
